A comparison of Agave tequilana var. Azul leaves from plants between one and six years old. Anatomical analysis covers mesophyll cells and vascular bundle development. Telomerase activity was detected in all age groups, with the highest relative values in three and six year old plants. The paper describes an association between enzyme activity and tissue development.
